Jenna Ortega Thinks She Auditioned for Zendaya’s Role in ‘Dune

Jenna Ortega is very certain she auditioned for Zendaya’s role in Dune. The Beetlejuice The actress from Beetlejuice stated that she was 15 years old at the time of the interview.
Jenna Ortega was asked about a part for which people would be surprised to find she auditioned in a recent BuzzFeed dog interview. She confessed she was very convinced she auditioned for the role of Chani in Dune, which eventually went to Zendaya. “I auditioned for Dune when I was about 15,” Ortega explains in the video.
“I think it was Chani, I think it was Zendaya’s,” Ortega said in a BuzzFeed interview. “But they weren’t saying that, everything was very secret.”

Ortega said she was “really excited” because Denis Villeneuve “is one of my favourite filmmakers.”

Ortega is currently 21, which puts her possible Dune audition at six years old. In addition to Zendaya, the critically praised first part of the sci-fi series included Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, and Dave Bautista. Dune: Part Two was released earlier this year.
Ortega also discussed her experience filming Netflix’s Wednesday with famed filmmaker Tim Burton. Burton also directs the upcoming Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice, a sequel to his 1988 film, stars Ortega as Astrid Deetz, the daughter of Winona Ryder’s Lydia.
Can you envision anyone other than Zendaya as Chani in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune series? According to Jenna Ortega, the role may have come to her in parallel universe.

“I remember just being a big fan of that film, franchise, and everything like that.” Ortega said she was “really excited” for the audition because Villeneuve is “one of [her] favourite filmmakers.”

“On Wednesday we were just trying to get to know each other a little bit,” Ortega said of her friendship with Burton. “On Beetlejuice, he seemed more light-hearted, which I believe benefited our relationship a lot … it was just a very joyous, happy shoot.

Ryder, Michael Keaton, and Catherine O’Hara repeat their roles in the film. “Winona was so welcoming,” Ortega added. “I feel really, really lucky to have been able to create such a bond with her on set.”
Ortega praised both Keaton and O’Hara.
“I have been such a fan of Michael Keaton for such a long time that I think actually seeing him in person I went inside myself because I weirdly got shy,” she said. She also noted that witnessing Keaton play the Bee portrayal “was the first time I think I saw someone completely disappear, no bit of themselves involved, so that was pretty special.”

Ortega went on to say, “Catherine O’Hara is one of the funniest people I’ve ever met my life.

Ortega plays Wednesday Addams in Netflix’s Wednesday, which had its first season in 2022. The crew is presently working on season two.
High-profile roles may require auditions with completely distinct prompts. Earlier this year, the cast of Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender said that they had no idea what they were auditioning for. “What the team at Avatar had done was write fake scripts for us so that we had no idea what the [real] script was,” said Dallas Liu, who plays Zuko.

During the conversation, Ortega, who is now promoting Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, she discussed her experience working with Tim Burton on the long-awaited sequel and season 2 of Netflix’s Wednesday.

“We’re shooting episode 201 and 204 are currently airing, and there is a lot going on in those episodes, which feel quite significant,” Ortega remarked. “It feels like every day we’re tackling a big scene.”

Ortega also revealed a few personal information during the interview, like the fact that her first celebrity infatuation “was Barack Obama” and that she was bewildered and delighted by the (totally fake) rumours that she was dating Johnny Depp.

“It’s so insane to me, like, I never spoke on that, I never said anything like that,” Ortega told the audience. “I thought that that was pretty hilarious.”
